Come and visit us at hall B4 booth 320 from September 15th to 20th, 2018 on the iba trade fair in Munich.

The topics we featured at the 2017 südback have obviously gained the interest of many, in some cases long-time dispotool users, but also of some new parties as well.

dispotool is well-known in the industry for optimizing picking processes in bakeries.

But until now, picking has often been put on a level with dispatching bread and roles, at best with the picking of viennoiserie.

Unfortunately, in the past, this restricted approach put the rationalization of picking snacks, cooled or frozen products, pieces of dough and merchandise at a disadvantage – for toolbox and our customers.

At the 2017 südback, we took the topic head on.

If you were unable to visit the toolbox stand at the südback, we are still here for you, even after the trade fair.

Simply get in touch! Together, we can discuss how to ban paper from shopping and picking at your bakery completely.

Be it by using a shopping solution, smart glasses or dispatching small amounts on shelves.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Any visitor who has regularly visited Modern Bakery in Moscow in the last years has noticed the development of toolbox Software. The display area for the company has progressively expanded from a 12 sq.m. exhibition stand to 80 sq.m. this year.

Moreover, the size of the stand located in the Forum has enabled market leaders for order picking in Russia and the CIS as a whole to look back at the successful fair. This year, after a long time, the Forum was once again used for Modern Bakery. Besides toolbox, many other international exhibitors made use of this brightly lit and well-appointed pavilion for their participation at the fair.

After the four days of the exhibition, Florian Zintzen, Sales Coordinator at toolbox and the Stand Manager in Moscow, concluded in an unequivocally positive light: “We were able to greet either more than 30% of visitors at our exhibition stand. Compared to a number of other international fairs in Moscow, most of those interested had gone beyond the norm in preparing themselves for intensive discussions.”

This kept the four Russian toolbox staff and their three German colleagues engaged non-stop in technical discussions at the stand on the two busiest days, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Innovative order picking with Pick-by-Vision

Pick-by-Vision was the special highlight at the exhibition stand of the order picking specialists.

When working with Pick-by-Vision, the employee in order picking wears the aptly-termed data glasses.
With the launching of data glasses in 2014, a whole new medium of communication came on the market. When working with Pick-by-Vision, the employee in order picking wears the aptly-termed data glasses. With the launching of data glasses in 2014, a whole new medium of communication came on the market.

The clip-on itself serves a range of functions:
A projector – this could also be called a mini-projector – projects the necessary information onto the spectacle lens. The information tells the picker the order picking location or box – logistic staff call it the "pick-face" – where he should go.
Once they have arrived there, the picker directs his attention to a barcode or QR code that is attached there. The built-in camera scans the code. With the scanning procedure, dispotool receives confirmation that the distributor is at the correct pick-face. The pickers now see in their spectacles the quantity of products that they must pick. If there is more essential information about the selected product or customer, the pickers also see this in their spectacles.

Every day, toolbox presented the Pick-by-Vision distribution using the innovative data glasses.
Quite a few visitors took the opportunity to put on “the glasses” and simulate working with this new medium at the exhibition stand. Users were surprised at just how simple working with glasses of this kind was and how comfortable they were to wear.

For toolbox itself, Pick-by-Vision has been part and parcel of the daily routine for some time. More than two years ago, a workshop for the future was held at the company headquarters. Leading bakeries, specialist consultants and a team from toolbox product development participated in this meeting and laid down the foundation stone for today’s approach.

Joerg Schlag, the COO at toolbox and father of Pick-by-Vision in bakeries, confidently welcomed the enthusiastic response at Modern Bakery: “Getting to work on the data glasses at an unusually early stage was precisely the right move. It was a time when others were still dismissing this technology as a crackpot idea. For that and other reasons, we were also able to market the system internationally early on, and today, we can draw on a wealth of experience that could place Pick-by-Vision “made by toolbox” at the forefront of development.”

York-based RedBlack Software has formed a technology alliance with German firm toolbox Software.

Both companies are market-leaders in the bakery industry. RedBlack is the creator of the CyBake bakery management software solution used by wholesale and retail bakeries across the UK and Ireland. toolbox, which is headquartered in Eschweiler, Aachen, provides the dispotool automated order-picking, distribution and warehouse control system to bakeries around the world.

The two companies formed their relationship after creating an interface between their solutions for major Scottish baker Bayne’s, which is headquartered in Lochore, Fife, and operates 50 shops.

The new interface means that when orders are entered into CyBake, they are passed on automatically to dispotool. distpotool then calculates where products will come from, where they need to be delivered and whether to prioritise certain customers in the event of limited stock.

distpotool fulfills customer orders and then CyBake automatically issues an invoice from this data. Little oversight is needed at head-office while data re-entry and human error are eliminated. Costs are reduced, the quality of order fulfillment is improved and space in the warehouse/dispatch area is used more efficiently.

Having completed a successful trial at Bayne’s, RedBlack and toolbox are now offering the CyBake/dispotool interface to all British and Irish bakers that use both systems.

toolbox’s International Sales Manager, Niklaas Wolters, says that judging from its first few British customers, his company can see big demand for a bakery-specific dispatch solution in the UK.

Wolters says: “After developing the interface at our first joint customer, Bayne’s, and the excellent collaboration between CyBake and toolbox, this was a logical step for us. As the world market-leader in picking systems and with CyBake as the UK market-leader in bakery ERP, it makes sense to solidify our partnership and to work together in the future.”

As part of their new partnership, CyBake specialists including RedBlack Software director Martin Coyle joined the toolbox team on their stand at the recent IBA in Munich. In addition, CyBake and toolbox will exhibit together at the Craft Bakers & Butchers Extravaganza on October 11 at the Yorkshire Show Ground, Harrogate.

RedBlack director Martin Coyle says: “toolbox has a fantastic system that encapsulates all of the quality and efficiency you might expect from German designers. I am really looking forward to supporting toolbox as they introduce their system to craft bakers in the UK.”

The CyBake/dispotool interface is available now from both RedBlack Software and toolbox Software.

How does dispotool help to warrant the distribution quality?

  • Heightened punctuality - because both the steps taken during picking, and the delivery times can be planned and complied with in an improved fashion.
  • One hundred percent compliance between distribution quantities and delivery note - because an alignment between the actual quantities to be allocated takes place before the distribution.
  • Simple user interface and optimized distribution processes - enables everybody to reach a continuous, high level of distribution quality in a short period of training.
  • Focused work -because defined and automated processes minimize communication expenditures and thereby create productive silence.

Between January and July 2015, twelve bakeries invited interested colleagues. From Kiel to Munich, in Switzerland and in Austria, a total of more than 140 prospects, business owners and dispatch managers from 74 bakeries attended our Roadshow.

"We are still excited about the tremendous interest in this event series", stated Reik Koletzko, toolbox Key Account Manager for Germany, Switzerland and Austria, after the last event at the Bakery Sutter in Basel.

The same excitement quickly spread to the audience at each event. The initial idea behind our Roadshow was to develop an alternative to trade fairs. After a 90-minute presentation on the mode of operation of dispotool and a short night, the participants visited the bakery in actual operation as early as 4.30 am.

Many visitors expressed their surprise at how very easy it was to operate the picking system when they were allowed to try it themselves.

toolbox CEO Sascha Egener is sure "that we will carry out this successful concept again in Germany, Switzerland and Austria during the first half of 2016." Soon, toolbox will organize this informational evens series in Russia, Poland, Great Britain and Scandinavia as well. Initial planning has already started.

A clear signal for bakery goods in the Russian market

toolbox sponsors Modern Bakery 2015 in Moscow

dispotool convinces industrial bakeries in Eastern Europe

Eschweiler/Moscow

Participation in the Modern Bakery in Moscow is coming up in a few weeks for the experts in paperless picking in baking industries at the company toolbox. Taking part in this leading fair for Russia and CIS states in the Russian metropolis is an absolute must in the course of the year. And still, the Modern Bakery 2015 is an outstanding fair. “Not only is our exhibition stand three times the size of our stand last year, toolbox even supports the most important exhibition in Eastern Europe by being a sponsor.” Says CEO Sascha Egener.

By now, toolbox can refer to numerous attractive industrial customers in Russia. Darnitsa in St. Petersburg, who produce 150 tons of bread daily, Grain Holding in Moscow, who have successfully been using dispotool for 5 years, and Fazer in St. Petersburg to name only three of many companies. “Admittedly, it is a challenge to present software and system solutions for our visitors at an exhibition stand in a quick, understandable and attractive way. Therefore, this year, we decided to present the captivating simplicity and efficiency of our solutions by means of a short and entertaining play.” explains Sascha Egener.

While Russia is currently being represented as a difficult market in the public perception, toolbox is convinced that the customer base, which has been steadily increasing over the past years, will also continue to develop positively in politically challenging times. Despite an extremely problematic exchange rate for Russia against the euro and the dollar, rationalization potentials - as they are offered outstandingly by toolbox’ dispotool - provide an opportunity to meet the growing cost of pressure.

A few years ago, toolbox has already responded to the growth of the Russian market and today it employs seven Russian native speakers in service and sales. “We have not only completely eliminated the language barrier with our Russian-speaking colleagues; we furthermore have no problems to adjust to the specific conditions of this market.“ says Egener.

In the fall 2015, the iba will take place in Munich, as it does every three years. In the so-called ‘iba-years’ of the past decades, a certain reservation among the exhibitioners was visible with regard to the participation in the Modern Bakery or the design and size of the exhibition stand in Moscow. Sascha Egener: “Even though we are happy about every Russian visitor at the iba, toolbox is convinced that the size of the Russian market not only offers an attractive presentation at a separate exhibition in Moscow, the Modern Bakery, but even makes it indispensable.”
